2022 MaxPreps High School Football All-America Team: The Best of the Best

The 2022 MaxPreps High School Football All-America Team has been announced, and it is stacked with talent. The team features players from all over the country, and they represent the best of the best in high school football.

The Offense

The offensive side of the ball is led by quarterback Caleb Downs of St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.). Downs is a dual-threat quarterback who has committed to play at the University of Alabama. He is a dynamic playmaker who can beat teams with his arm and his legs.

The running back position is represented by Rueben Bain of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and Jackson Arnold of Lake Travis (Austin, Texas). Bain is a bruising runner who is difficult to bring down. Arnold is a shifty runner who can make defenders miss in the open field.

The wide receiver position is loaded with talent. The team features four players who have committed to play at Power 5 schools: Roderick Robinson of Duncanville (Texas) (Alabama), Brandon Inniss of American Heritage (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) (Georgia), Kayden Lyles of St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) (Maryland), and Tyler Williams of Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, Calif.) (USC).

The tight end position is represented by Matayo Uiagalelei of St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.). Uiagalelei is the younger brother of former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He is a big-bodied tight end who is a mismatch for defenders.

The Defense

The defensive side of the ball is just as talented as the offensive side. The team features a number of players who are committed to play at Power 5 schools.

The defensive line is led by Travis Hunter of Collins Hill (Suwanee, Ga.). Hunter is a five-star recruit who is considered to be the best player in the country. He is a dominant force on the defensive line who can disrupt plays from the inside or the outside.

The linebacker position is represented by Deuce Geralds of Collins Hill (Suwanee, Ga.) and Tyler Atkinson of Grayson (Loganville, Ga.). Geralds is a versatile linebacker who can play in a variety of schemes. Atkinson is a physical linebacker who is a force in the middle of the field.

The secondary is loaded with talent. The team features three players who have committed to play at Power 5 schools: Kelee Ringo of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) (Georgia), Jalen Kimber of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) (Alabama), and Kelee Ringo of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) (Georgia). Ringo is a lockdown corner who is difficult to beat. Kimber is a versatile defensive back who can play in a variety of schemes.

The Special Teams

The special teams unit is led by punter Will McDonald of Westlake (Austin, Texas). McDonald is a consistent punter who has a big leg. Kicker Robbie Punter of St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) is also a member of the team. Punter is a reliable kicker who has a strong leg.
