Casa Grande Softball Advances to NCS Championship Game
The Casa Grande softball team defeated Redwood 5-0 on Tuesday night to advance to the North Coast Section championship game. The Gauchos will face No. 5 Livermore at San Marin High School on Friday.
The Casa Grande softball team advanced to the North Coast Section championship game on Tuesday night with a 5-0 win over Redwood at Casa Grande High School.
The Gauchos (24-4) will face No. 5 Livermore (15-11) at San Marin High School at 5 p.m. Friday.
Casa Grande pitcher Emma Hall threw a complete game shutout, striking out 10 and walking one. She allowed just four hits.
The Gauchos got on the board in the first inning when Emma Smith led off with a single and scored on a double by Emma Miller.
Casa Grande added two more runs in the second inning on a single by Miller and a double by Sydney Davis.
The Gauchos scored their final two runs in the fifth inning on a single by Smith and a double by Miller.
Miller finished the game with three hits and two RBIs. Smith had two hits and one RBI.
Casa Grande is seeking its first NCS championship since 2001.
