Kansas State Wildcats Big 12 Football 2023: Live Updates and Status, Schedule, Preview Tonight
The Kansas State Wildcats are ready for another season of Big 12 football. The Wildcats enter the 2023 season as the defending Big 12 champions, after defeating TCU in the conference championship game last year.
K-State will open the 2023 season on September 2 against Southeast Missouri State at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The Wildcats will then face Troy, Missouri, and UCF at home before hitting the road for their first Big 12 game against Oklahoma State on October 6.
K-State has a lot of returning experience on both sides of the ball. The Wildcats return quarterback Will Howard, running back Deuce Vaughn, wide receiver Malik Knowles, and linebacker Daniel Green.
Howard is a dual-threat quarterback who threw for 2,808 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. Vaughn is a dynamic running back who rushed for 1,542 yards and 14 touchdowns. Knowles is a big-play receiver who caught 70 passes for 1,036 yards and 8 touchdowns. Green is a tackling machine who led the Wildcats with 110 tackles last season.
The Wildcats will also be getting a boost from a talented recruiting class. K-State signed a top-25 recruiting class in 2023, which includes four-star quarterback Adrian Martinez and four-star wide receiver Julian Fleming.
Martinez is a transfer from Nebraska who has thrown for over 8,000 yards and 60 touchdowns in his career. Fleming is a big-play receiver who caught 93 passes for 1,617 yards and 17 touchdowns in his senior season of high school.
The Wildcats have a lot of potential in 2023. If they can stay healthy and play up to their potential, they could be a contender for the Big 12 championship again.

Schedule Preview
The Kansas State Wildcats have a tough schedule in 2023. They will face three teams that finished in the top 10 of the Big 12 standings last season: Oklahoma State, TCU, and Baylor. They will also face a tough non-conference schedule that includes games against Southeast Missouri State, Troy, and UCF.
Despite the tough schedule, the Wildcats have a chance to be a contender for the Big 12 championship. They have a lot of returning experience and a talented recruiting class. If they can stay healthy and play up to their potential, they could be a team to watch in 2023.
