Troy Sowers thrilled to return to coaching with Eastern York boys' basketball
Troy Sowers is the head coach of the Eastern York boys' basketball team. He is thrilled to be back on the sidelines after taking a year off to focus on his family. Sowers led the Eagles to a 19-7 record and a berth in the District 3 Class 3A playoffs in 2021-22. He is confident that the Eagles can be successful this season, despite losing a few key players from last year's squad. Troy Sowers is thrilled to be back on the sidelines as the head coach of the Eastern York boys' basketball team. Sowers, who led the team to a 19-7 record and a berth in the District 3 Class 3A playoffs in 2021-22, took a year off from coaching to focus on his family. But he's excited to get back to work with the Eagles.
"I'm really looking forward to it," Sowers said. "I missed being around the kids and the game. I'm excited to get started and see what we can do."
Sowers inherits a team that lost a few key players from last year's squad, but he's confident that the Eagles have the talent to be successful.
"We're a little bit young, but we have some good pieces," Sowers said. "We're going to have to work hard and be disciplined, but I think we can be competitive."
Sowers is also excited about the opportunity to work with new assistant coach Mike Williams. Williams, who played college basketball at Millersville University, brings a wealth of experience to the Eagles' program.
"I'm really excited to have Mike on board," Sowers said. "He's a great basketball mind and he's going to be a great asset to our program."
Sowers is eager to get started and see what the Eagles can accomplish this season.
